Wonderful Family Stay – A Hidden Gem Off the Las Vegas Strip!

We are a family of four (two adults and two kids aged 4 and 8), and we had a fantastic stay at this hotel during our recent trip to Las Vegas. In the past, we’ve stayed right on the Strip, but this time we decided to try something different—and honestly, we’re so glad we did!

This hotel is an absolute gem. It offers a peaceful, smoke-free environment, which was perfect for our family. One of the biggest pluses for us was the free car parking, which is a rare and valuable perk in Vegas.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet, which gave us all a great night’s sleep after long days of exploring the city. Housekeeping (mainly Ms Jennifer was super friendly and all the staff members we interacted with were exceptionally friendly and welcoming—it really made a difference and gave the hotel a warm, home-like feel.

Breakfast had limited choices, but everything offered was fresh, well-prepared, and honestly, some of the best we’ve had for a hotel in this price range. It definitely exceeded expectations.

There’s also a café and a restaurant on-site, and we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced and family-friendly they were. It made meals super convenient and affordable without needing to venture out all the time.

We’ve stayed in many different places, both on and off the Strip, and this hotel truly stands out for its value, comfort, and service. If you’re looking for a clean, safe, family-friendly place to stay in Las Vegas that doesn’t break the bank, look no further. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others—you won’t be disappointed!

Check-in was excellent… There was no problem checking in early. Parking was free and extremely convenient! The room was clean and spacious. The location is OK if you are focused on gambling… but the art district is nearby with a quality selection of craft brew. I would definitely consider the Ahern in the future.

Had a delicious salad, and my husband ordered pork belly for appetizers, and it was delicious!!! 😋
Service was great, we had Charles Massaguai. He is excellent! Very nice personality!

We had an excellent meal and first class service at the restaurant Ottimo. Our server Charles Massaquai was very attentive and served our food and libations in a very timely fashion. Note: this was not our first time, just another exceptional experience. Highly recommended.

This was such a nice hotel to stay at. It was new, classy, and looked beautiful inside! Parking was easy in the attached free parking lot.

Our room was spacious and furniture was comfortable. The mini refrigerator ran well and had a freezer compartment.

Bathroom was beautiful with a big lit vanity mirror. The only thing we didn't like was the pink tint on the windows didn't allow any natural light color in. We ended up always drawing the curtains and turning the lights on to avoid seeing everything in pink.

The shampoos, conditioners, and lotions feel luxurious.

The lobby is spacious. There is an Italian restaurant on-site called Ottimo which is where you can get the included free breakfast.

At check in, you receive dated breakfast vouchers that can only be used on that day. So if you miss 1 day, you cannot redeem multiple breakfast on a different day. The 4 breakfast options are a variation of $13-$18 items the restaurant serves on the menu and made to order:
1. classic egg, bacon/sausage, with potatoes and toast
2. sourdough waffle with berries and whipped cream
3. avocado toast with egg and salad, 4. oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar

They offered complimentary 12pm check out. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Was perfect to get to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Might be a little far from the main area of the Strip if that’s what you’re looking for.

The great reviews about the Ahern the travel websites were spot on. If you want to enjoy Las Vegas without being overwhelmed by flashing lights and cigarette smoke at the end of the day, then the Ahern is for you. Our room was large with a spacious bathroom. It was nice and quiet , and very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The free breakfast was amazing ( best complimentary breakfast I’ve ever had ). The Ahern is perfect for individuals or families who want to enjoy Las Vegas but not be overwhelmed 24/7. Uber to the Las Vegas strip was not expensive from the Ahern, so it’s in a great location.

We started at the Aroma cafe upstairs. The pastry selection is odd. Some basics would help even a donut or apple fritter. 5 of us left without ordering. We went to the first floor after being told the place had an amazing breakfast special. We asked the hostess, she stated she didn’t know the menu. She provided the menu and omelettes start at 18 and a stack of pancake was $17. Again, all of us left.

Exceeded expectations! Check-in was smooth, quick and the staff was welcoming. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped. Continental breakfast had a fantastic variety—way better than expected! Perfect location with easy access to attractions. Overall, an amazing stay—would definitely return! Perfect stay for a softball team.

Attended the Great American Restoration Tour here in March 2025. I found the accommodation was excellent. Every staff member I encountered from front desk, security, housekeeping was smiling and happy to be of assistance. The conference accommodations were more than adequate for our 300+ person group. The staff provided breakfast for 3 days as well as lunch 2 days. The food was very good, hot, and plentiful. I would highly recommend this place for your conference/convention needs.

I love this hotel. It is conveniently located, a short walking distance to the action, but far enough away from the madness to relax. The staff there are wonderful - with a shout out to Effie - and they take care of your every need. Joel's Chophouse has amazing, elegant cuisine and Ottimo is more casual but yummy. It is so nice not to have to walk through a smoky, noisy casino to get to your QUIET room. I will never stay anywhere else and I am happy to recommend Ahern to all my friends and associates.

Great place to come if you have want family friendly, and don't want the garbage other hotels have on posters or other materials in your kids face. Staff were great and friendly. They also have an excellent free breakfast for two in their restaurant across from the hotel. Rooms are always clean when we have stayed at this hotel. They also have a collection of awesome cars and trucks on display if you like the old classics. Definitely would give them an A+ for our stay. If I had one complaint, it would be with Hotels.com because they wouldn't refund me on my reservation. I made that somehow the dates of my stay were off. Even though I had only made the reservation for this room less than 1 minute before, I realized that it had the wrong date on it and had called immediately to fix the problem. And they then acted like I should just eat the reservation and pay for the day I wanted. Luckily, I was able to just stay the extra day and not lose out on my money. This is sad for hotels.com to act like this because I am a gold member, and I never ask for anything.

Ahern Hotel is located close to Sahara Hotel in Vegas, making it super convenient for getting around. It’s very close to bus stops and right in the middle of everything on the Strip. I loved how spacious and clean the rooms were.

I’ve stayed at the Wynn, and Planet Hollywood prior and was originally planning to stay at one of the large casino hotels again, but I ended up making the right choice—Ahern felt safe, easily accessible, and not insanely far from the main entrance like some bigger hotels where I used to stay. It had everything one would need for a comfortable stay. If given the choice, I would definitely stay here again when in Vegas!
