Joel’s Chophouse Named Hot New Restaurant of 2024

More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends, and family of Eater editors have one question: Where should I eat right now? Restaurant obsessives want to know what’s new, and what’s hot. And while the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the latest openings. The Eater Heatmap changes continually to always highlight where the food lovers are flocking to at the moment.

Tucked away in the Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel, just off the Las Vegas Strip, this new restaurant has all the makings of a Las Vegas steakhouse. In addition to bone-in filet mignon and Tomahawk ribeye, Joel’s Chophouse has two seafood towers — a chilled option for $105 with whole Maine lobster, jumbo shrimp, oysters, clams, and mignonette. The hot platter ($115) has whole Maine lobster, sautéed Mexican white shrimp, mussels, and seared scallops sautéed with garlic, basil, sherry.

Free parking, no resort fees, great dining options on site, close to the monorail and just a really nice property! The room's are nice and quiet. Stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend and had a blast. Restaurant and Pizza kitchen are fantastic! Some of the best breakfast I've ever had! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Had a wonderful dinner at Joel's Chophouse. The atmosphere and service were splendid, the presentation of the food was artistic and beautiful, and the meal was delicious. My wife and I dined with six others, so we were able to savor the variety and consistent quality of menu items. We'll definitely be returning!

Such a hidden gem! All the food is so delicious and The happy hour is an absolute YES!!! The service hands down just wonderful!! They have wine and beer pairings also live music nights with karaoke. I highly recommend this place.

It’s just a great hotel. No gambling here so it allows you to have non-gambling experience. The owner of the hotel can be found here from time to time talking to everyone. The service is fantastic, the restaurants are great and the place is super clean. Highly recommend.

What I liked about Ahern was the quiet setting. It was 1 to 2 blocks off the strip. There was security at the property at all times. Very clean, all encompassing facilities. No casino, which i liked! Friendly staff and clean rooms. A hotel !!
